A proposal to lower the speed limit on a portion of I-41 in Outagamie County moves forward.
On Monday, a committee approved a study on lowering the speed limit from 70 to 55 miles per hour, from Highway 15 in the Appleton area up to Brown County.
Supporters say it would be a temporary move during a possible expansion of I-41 to cut down on accidents, speeding and congestion.
The study now needs approval from the Outagamie County Board. They're expected to vote on it during a meeting on Tuesday.
