A family is taking a tragic situation and using it for good by hosting the Colton's Cure Foundation Gala at Lambeau Field.
The Gala took place Saturday night and it's named after Colton Steinhorst. Steinhorst was just two and half years old when he was diagnosed with stage IV neuroblastoma, the disease which eventually took his life two years later.
Colton's family now holds the Gala every year in an effort to raise money to help other families fighting the same disease.
"My son Colton would be so proud of all of us coming out and supporting and raising funds for all the kids that really deserve it, so it's really heart-warming to be here tonight and enjoy an evening with friends," said Colton's mother Tara Steinhorst.
The Colton's Cure Foundation relies solely on donations and helps ease the financial burden of Wisconsin families going through a childhood cancer diagnosis.
