A clothes dryer caused a small fire inside a De Pere duplex Tuesday afternoon, according to the De Pere Fire Department.
The fire happened at 613 N. Clay Street. A woman called 911 around 2:31 p.m. after hearing a smoke alarm coming from the basement of the duplex and seeing smoke coming from a clothes dryer, the De Pere Fire Department said.
Crews found moderate smoke conditions in the basement, and quickly brought the fire in the dryer under control, according to Fire Department.
The building was ventilated and cleared to reoccupy. Damage was estimated at $5,000 and no injuries were reported.
