A new state-of-the-art clean energy microgrid is unveiled at the Gordon Bubolz Nature Preserve in Appleton.

Faith Technologies and Schneider Electric are spear-heading the project that they say will create cleaner energy to help protect the environment.

Officials say it was built to help industrial and commercial businesses improve energy cost efficiency and increase sustainability.

"Around us you see kids coming in as part of the regular tour here and I think the next generation will expect sustainability and to have them come in and experience this to see that this conservation area is powered with clean energy I think will take it from being the exception to the time these kids grow up it will be the norm and that is the most exciting part of this," Schneider Electric US Operations Senior VP Aamir Paul said.

The microgrid at the nature preserve.. will serve as a "clean energy research" and development site.. as well as an educational center.
