The child who was hit by a car in Green Bay is recovering.
Four-year-old, Serenity, was hit by a car last week near her family’s apartment. Green Bay Police say the driver fled the scene. Police say they are still looking for the suspect, 35-year-old, Quinton Martin.
Serenity’s mother, who only spoke with NBC26, tells us Serenity was just released from the hospital Tuesday night. She’s temporarily in a wheelchair and will slowly learn to walk again. Her mother tells us that her daughter has a couple of breaks in her pelvic bone, but doctors told her they've never seen anyone survive something like this and not have internal injuries.
“What a tragic event, because every parent rationalizes this and personalizes this and thinks what if this was my child,” said Capt. Kevin Warych, with the Green Bay Police Dept. “This was a very tragic incident involving a child where it could have been prevented.”
If you have any information about Quinton Martin, please call Green Bay Police.
There is a Go Fund Me Page set up to help with Serenity's rehabilitation. You can find that link here.
