Cellcom Green Bay Marathon weekend has arrived

This weekend thousands of runners will be in Northeast Wisconsin for the Cellcom Green Bay Marathon. 

Organizers say the three-day Marathon weekend brings more than 11,000 runners and an estimated $1.2 million in spending to the local economy.

There are runners from 44 states and 14 countries in the marathon, half-marathon and 5K making it the largest half-marathon in the state of Wisconsin and the second largest full marathon.

There are a couple new events that have been added to the Prevea Health & Fitness Expo. Free yoga was a hit last year and returns this year with additional free yoga sessions on Friday and Saturday. There is also a new talk called "Spectator 101" will will cover everything you need to know about watching the Cellcom Marathon.

Once again, spectators can sign-up to receive alerts when their runners cross various mile markers on the course via the app or text messaging. You can sign up for those alerts by clicking, HERE.

There are 52 elite athletes registered in the half and full marathon to compete for $20,000 in prize money. 

CELLCOM MARATHON WEEK EVENTS

Friday, May 19th:

  • Expo, registration and packet pick up opens from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m.
  • Free Yoga for Runners from 5:30 p.m. - 6:15 p.m. at Oneida Nation Deck

Saturday, May 20th:

  • 5K packet pick-up opens at 7 a.m. 
  • WPS Kids Power Run packet pick-up opens at 9:30 a.m.
  • 5K at Lambeau Field begins at 9 a.m.
  • WPS Kids Power Run begins at 10:30 a.m.
  • Free Yoga for Runners from 12:00 p.m. - 12:45 p.m. at Oneida Nation Deck
  • Spectator 101 Expo talk at 1 p.m. in the Lambeau Field Atrium
  • First Timers Forum from 2:15 p.m. - 3:15 p.m. in the Lambeau Field Atrium
  • Expo open/Distance event packet pick up o[pen from 9 a.m.- 6 p.m.
  • Registration and packet pick-up closes at 6 p.m.

Sunday, May 21st:

  • Marathon, Marathon Relay begins at 7 a.m.
  • Half Marathon, Half Marathon relay begins at 8 a.m.
  • Half Marathon course closes at noon.
  • Marathon course closes at 2 p.m.

Wednesday, May 24th

  • Volunteer Appreciation Party at 5:30 p.m. at Green Bay Distillery
