Fat Tuesday once again brought a lot of business to bakeries in Northeast Wisconsin for Paczki Day.
Paczkis are a traditional Polish treat many like to enjoy before the season of Lent prior to Easter.
They're filled with jam or other sweet filling and topped with icing or powdered sugar.
The Polish pastry is a big hit, and the tradition grows each year.
"It's the celebration of the coming of Lent," said Greg Smurawa with Smurawa's Country Bakery in Pulaski. "It's our way of sharing with the public a beautiful, fantastic recipe that's been in our family for decades."
The idea is to eat a paczki on Fat Tuesday for good luck the rest of the year.
