At Kennedy Park in Weston on Sunday evening, hundreds gathered in the pouring rain to grieve and mourn together.
A candlelight vigil took place just days after 4 people were killed in a shooting spree Wednesday.
"It's hard to talk about, it's a very sad tragedy for our community to lose an officer and three mothers. It's hard," explained John Rhyner of Weston.
The community is hoping that by coming together they can help each other move forward.
"This has really been a difficult few days and some challenging days to come," said Everest Metro Police Chief, Wally Sparks.
Officer Jason Weiland, attorney Sara Quirt Sann, and two bank employees, Dianne Look and Karen Barclay were killed when a gunman went on a shooting spree.
For those left behind, who knew those killed too soon, they say the community support means a lot.
"I can tell you that the community support and everything that we've seen in this community has just been heartwarming," said Chief Sparks.
