The Calumet County Sheriff's Office just got some help for its K9 fundraiser.
The Robert and Patricia Endries Family Foundation offered a $10,000 challenge for the Calumet K9 Fund. Every dollar up to $10,000 that is donated from November 1, 2015 through May 1, 2016 will be matched by the foundation.
The Calumet K9 Fund received over $13,000 from donations and fundraising since November 1, 2015.
With the help of donations and the donation match the K9 Fund has now raised $54,000 of its $72,000 goal.
The Robert and Patricia Endries Family Foundation has also agreed to donate $5,000 to meet the goal if the K9 Fund reaches $67,000 by May 1, 2016.
The Sheriff's Office says the money raised would go to buy, train and equip a dog to assist with police work and to buy a vehicle for transporting the K9. They say the K9 will serve all of Calumet County.
The K9 Fund is managed by the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region.
