Wednesday's debate was crucial for the Donald Trump campaign as he's been trailing in the polls.
However, Brown County Republicans said after the debate they thought Trump's performance will help him in this election.
Republicans said they believed this debate to be the most focused, allowing both candidates to talk about proposed policies. That's exactly what Republicans were hoping to hear from Trump.
Trump came out strong right away, discussing his opinions on appointing justices to the Supreme Court. There was mention of both candidates' controversies, but Republicans thought this allowed voters to hear more about Trump's platform.
"I think all the policy points are very good and they represent really where I think, if you look at Brown County, it represents a majority of where Brown County voters are going to be," said Marian Krumberger, Republican Party of Brown County Chair. "I think that people need to hear that."
