NEENAH - NBC26 first brought you the story of Brenda Allen in February of 2016. Click HERE for our first story.
Brenda was frustrated with her relationship with food and was in a dwindling relationship with herself.
Brenda began to do some research on a newly FDA approved non-surgical gastric balloon procedure for weight loss called Orbera.
The only place it's available in Wisconsin is through Midwest Bariatric Solutions at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah.
Since having the procedure Brenda has lost 30 pounds.
She says she still experiences cravings but unlike before she's able to control them.
"It's different. This is a change and it's a good change. It's helping me figure out how to better myself and how to eat better." said Allen
"I'm starting to like myself the way I look now. It feels great. I'm finally starting to be happy again. I'm not down in the dumps anymore. My husband and I do a lot more instead of just sitting around doing nothing. We do things. We just pick a weekend and we go away and it's nice because I don't feel like I've got people staring at me because I'm so big." said Allen.
Brenda's doctor says now is the time for Brenda to increase her workouts to lose another 30 pounds. Brenda says she is more than up to the challenge and she's never looking back.
Brenda will have the Orbera balloon removed mid-August.
