Louis Amelinckx has been found safe

UPDATE: Sturgeon Bay Police say that Louis Amelinckx has been found safe. 
 
Police say the 17-year-old was located in Chicago, Illinois around 12:50 a.m Friday. 
 
He was taken to a hospital by police for evaluation and is currently with his mother. 
 
Sturgeon Bay Police say it was the combination of everyone's efforts that lead to Louis being found. 
 
They want to thank everyone involved in the search for Louis.

UPDATE: The Sturgeon Bay Police Department is now considering Louis Amelinckx to be a runaway because he is 17-years-old, although he may be trying to pose as someone who is at least 21 years old.
 
The friends of Amelinckx and people he's met on a social media app tell police they don't believe he's in danger, although his family is concerned because he doesn't have his prescription medication.
 
Police were in contact with a woman who gave Amelinckx a ride from Oshkosh to Milwaukee Wednesday afternoon. 
 
The woman dropped Amelinckx off at a McDonalds parking lot at the corner of 25th and National. 
 
He was wearing a black jacket and a gray baseball type hat and carrying a backpack. The woman said she didn't believe Amelinckx was in distress. The Sturgeon Bay Police Department continues to follow-up on tips and work with other law enforcement agencies to find Amelinckx.

UPDATE: An endangered missing person alert has been issued for Louis Amelinckx, 17, who is 5'8" and 120 pounds with brown eyes, black short hair. He has a small scar on the left side of his mouth, three shaved lines in his hair on each side of his head, thin build and olive skin.
 
The alert is being sent statewide because his movements are changing. 
 
Amelinckx was reported missing by family and believed to be endangered as he does not have his prescription medication. Since Amelinckx has gone missing, he was reported to be in Green Bay, then Oshkosh, and is now in the Milwaukee area. Louis may be utilizing free Wi-Fi in public areas such as restaurants, businesses and public libraries. 
 
Amelinckx does not have a vehicle and would be seeking out rides from people. Contact local police or notify the Sturgeon Bay Police Department as they are attempting to locate Louis to check on his safety and return him home to his family.

A missing Sturgeon Bay teenager could be in danger and is thought to be headed towards Milwaukee, Sturgeon Bay Police said.

Louis Amelinckx, 17, left his home around 2 a.m. Monday and went to an apartment in Green Bay with two men he met on a social media app called Grindr, according to police.

He has black hair, brown eyes, is 5 feet 8 inches tall, and weighs 120 pounds. He was wearing a black jacket and red sneakers, police said. He may now be wearing different clothing and shoes.

Police believe he could be heading to Milwaukee.

Police were initially texting Amelinckx on his cell phone, and he told them he was in a dangerous situation, Sturgeon Bay Police said. However, he then texted officers that it was a false alarm. 

The Sturgeon Bay Police Department is working with the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
