Green Bay, WI -- Fireworks are a timeless tradition for the 4th of July holiday. If you are thinking about setting them off yourself, make sure you brush up on the laws to avoid a stiff fine.
Just because you can buy a firework, doesn't mean you are allowed to launch it. Many of the fireworks available at your local stands, could land you a hefty fine to launch if you do not have the proper permit.
Wisconsin law requires getting a permit from your local jurisdiction. The permit must be signed by the proper designee, such as your mayor or fire chief.
Permits issued by a firework stand are no good.
In Green Bay, it costs $150 to get a permit.
