It's National Police Week and around the nation many are celebrating those who risk their lives to keep the community safe. Many are also remembering those who lost their lives in the line of duty.
Appleton Police Department is participating in National Police Week. Monday it held a flag ceremony to remember those lost throughout the department.
Wednesday it is holding a brat fry and police vehicle display at Houdini Plaza from 10:00 AM until 1:30 PM.
During the event, a limited number of bicycle helmets, courtesy of the Heaney Family Fund within the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region, will be available.
Individuals wanting a helmet must bring their child(ren) to the event to be properly fitted.
