Boy battling cancer becomes firefighter for a day

Posted

Lincoln Schrock has a dream of becoming a firefighter. The 3-year-old has stage four neuroblastoma which is a cancer that attacks the body's adrenal glands. His mom said he's experienced a lot of pain as well as six rounds of chemotherapy and many surgeries, but on Thursday, all of that was forgotten.

Love Your Melon, an apparel brand that helps kids with cancer, worked with the Marshfield Fire Department to make Lincoln a firefighter for a day.

"It's just been so special for us. Marshfield has been willing to open up their doors and let Lincoln come in and have the best day of his life," said his mother, Kaitlyn Schrock.

Lincoln got to spray the fire hose, tour the station and ride in a fire truck. It's a day they'll never forget.

Lincoln is undergoing immunotherapy. His parents hope it will wipe out their son's cancer.
