BONDUEL - According to unofficial results, a school referendum for the Bonduel School District in Shawano County doesn't pass after Tuesday's vote.

Nearly 2000 people voted, with more than 1000 voters voting no.

The Board of education approved the resolution at a May 1st meeting to ask the community to vote on the operational referendum.

The Bonduel School District asked for the District to exceed the revenue limit on the non-recurring basis in the amount of $900,000 for the next three school years totaling up to $2.7M.

According to the Bonduel School District they expect budget deficits over the next three years of $400,000, $685,000 and $1.3M. They add that these deficits include reducing 12 full-time positions, eliminating programs, some school bus routes, increased class sizes and salary freezes.

Tuesday vote comes after a $3M referendum failed in April. The district meets on August 21st at 6 p.m.
