Blizzard helps Green Bay Police catch drunk drivers

Green Bay Police said the weekend blizzard helped them catch drunk drivers.

As officers braved the elements to respond to calls, a total of 16 drivers were arrested. Four of those arrests were for operating while intoxicated.

The OWI arrests were part of 332 calls Green Bay police responded to from Friday night to Monday morning.

Police said this serves as a reminder to follow travel advisories and travel safe.

"If you choose to drive, make sure you have a plan. Most importantly, don't be intoxicated, and in this situation, Mother Nature really helped us do our job by stopping these drunk drivers from going any further and they got stuck in a snowbank before they hit another person or another vehicle," said Captain Warych.
