A 13-year-old girl is helping veterans in her community.
Aubree Leitermann held a blanket making event Sunday at the Kimberly Municipal Complex.
The blankets are for veterans who are being transported on air medical transport flights, but she also gives some to veterans homes as well as those in need.
"It's really cool to know that it's something so small, such as like a blanket, that it makes them feel so special," said Leitermann.
Aubree has donated more than 500 blankets to veterans in need. She says she got the idea because both of her grandpas are veterans.
