De Pere, Wi -- Relaxing state laws on debt, those in the economics field say it's a green light for 3rd party bill collectors. Legislation could allow bill collectors to work from home.
Kevin Quinn is the Dean at the School of Business at Saint Norbert, he says it's an area of concern. "Offices will typically have the infrastructure necessary to do things like recording to make sure they aren't saying things that aren't against the law to say "
The bill also makes it easier for bill collectors to take you to court, allowing them to file suit with less documents.
"Its going to make it harder for people who owe money to get back on their feet." says Quinn.
While nationally there's a crackdown on third party debt buyers, Wisconsin could be making it easier.
