The Wisconsin Better Business Bureau says a new scam is targeting college students. Here's how it works, the scammer will contact a student either by phone or their student web address and offer them a work at home position depositing money into a payroll account.
They'll ask for personal information like a credit card number or student ID. "Don't fall for it," a BBB Spokesperson says. "not only is it not a job, you could be charged with assisting a cyber criminal."
Anyone who receives an offer like this should hang up and contact the BBB. You can also report fraud through the BBB Fraud Tracker found at https://www.bbb.org/scamtracker/wisconsin
