BARRON, Wis. — A healing event is taking place this weekend to help the Barron community move forward after the disappearance and discovery of Jayme Closs.

The event is Saturday at the Barron Area Community Center. It’s aimed at helping residents deal with the grief and fear they experienced.

Jayme Closs disappeared back in October 2018. Her parents were found murdered in their home. Jake Patterson is accused of kidnapping Jayme and killing her parents. Authorities say Jayme escaped captivity and was safely recovered in January 2019.

Jake Patterson is currently behind bars awaiting trial.
