Badgers, Phoenix ready for NCAA tournament play

The UW Green Bay Phoenix men’s and women’s basketball teams are ready to play in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

On the men’s side, the 14 seed Phoenix are the underdogs. They face number three seed Texas A&M.

This is the fifth time the Phoenix have made an appearance in the tournament. It’s the first time since 1996.

Tonight’s game airs at 6:20 p.m. on TBS.


The UWGB women will play a Tennessee at 4 p.m. tonight.

Tennessee is the only school to appear in all 35 NCAA tournaments, winning eight national championships.

This is the seventh trip in the past eight seasons for the Phoenix, with 19 post season appearances in all.

The game will air on ESPN 2.


The Wisconsin Badgers head into their first round against the Pittsburg Panthers.

Tipoff is at 5:50 p.m. on TNT.
