"Back to School Store" helps local families

Posted

Hundreds of kids are already going back-to-school shopping.

The Service League Of Green Bay held their 25th annual Back To School Store on Wednesday.

More than 1,500 children from the area, who qualified, were able to pick out a brand new outfit and a new pair of shoes. The kids also were able to choose a backpack then fill it with school supplies they need.

“It is a really important thing for kids to have what they need because for them to have the confidence to do well for the school year and we are just very happy to be able to provide that for them,” said Nicole Baumann, Marketing Chairwoman for the Service League Of Green Bay.

The Service League said many of the kids who qualified are displaced, meaning they're living with family in a temporary shelter.
