The Brown County Sheriff's Office is looking for a ring they say was stolen off the finger of a disabled resident at a local nursing home.

The Sheriff's Office says family noticed the ring missing and explained that it had been years since it had been removed, so it would have caused pain in the process of removing it from the victim's finger. The Sheriff's Office says the victim has severe disabilities and is unable to even understand the theft occurred.

The theft was first reported on September 3rd. The ring is described as a wedding/engagement ring, soldered together.

The Sheriff's Office has released documents that specifically identify the ring and main stone, a diamond, in hopes that this information can lead to the recovery of the ring.
