Members of the public got their chance Monday night to speak out on a proposal to change the airport name in Brown County to Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport. Leaders say it would help clear up confusion for travelers.
"Out of the 103 ports of entry into the United States airports that we compete against, almost 90% are named after the community or the city that they're in, and so I think it's important that we include that in our name," said Jet Air CEO Alan Timmerman.
The committee approved the proposed name change during Monday night's meeting. It now goes to the full county board for consideration.
