ASHWAUBENON – The Austin Straubel Airport will soon be changing it's name, if it get approval from the Federal Aviation Administration. Wednesday Evening the Brown County Board voted to change the name from "Austin Straubel International Airport" to "Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport"
Tom Miller, the Director of the Airport says the goal is to create more business so all can connect the name with the city.
The cost to change the name is said to be minimal as the signs on the highway will not be updated and items like stationary will continue to be used. The next step is for the FAA to approve the name change, which can take up to nine months.
