People living in one Ashwaubenon neighborhood said they're scared and shocked after a 24-year-old man was arrested for allegedly holding a woman against her will for six days, physically and sexually assaulting her the whole time.

A 26-year-old woman told police she went to talk to the man on Wednesday, May 25th at his apartment on Carstensen Lane in Ashwaubenon. While she was there, he allegedly took her phone, read messages on it, and then punched her, according to Ashwaubenon Public Safety.

The victim then alleges she was held there until Monday, May 30th. During that time, she told police she was physically and sexually assaulted, as well as stabbed in the arm with a hunting knife.

Neighbors said they're scared and upset about what happened, especially with kids in the neighborhood.

"Around here in general it's really safe and quiet but that building is really off the hinges," said neighbor Anette Munoz, describing the apartment building where the alleged assault happened.

"It makes me sick," said neighbor David Pata.

Some even said it made them think twice about where they live.

"There's a park across the street, we moved in thinking it was going to be a good neighborhood for our kids to live in," said neighbor Shawna Rygiel. "It makes me want to move."

The suspect is being held in the Brown County Jail on a Probation violation, and recommended charges of Substantial Battery, 2nd Degree Sexual Assault, 1st Degree Recklessly endangering Safety, False Imprisonment, and Disorderly Conduct.

He's expected to appear in court this afternoon. NBC26 is choosing not to name him at this time because he has not been officially charged.
