10-Year-Old Boy Battles Life Threatening Injuries After Crash

UPDATE:  A 10-year-old boy from De Pere is facing life threatening injuries as a result of a 3 car crash.  The crash happened around noon Saturday, after police say a driver appears to have suffered a medical issue behind the wheel.
 
That 10-year-old boy was initially transported to a local hospital, but later had to be air lifted to Milwaukee for further treatment of his injuries. 
 
Three others were treated for non-life threatening injures and released from an area hospital.

A 3 car crash caused delays in traffic most of the day, Saturday on Ashland Avenue in Green Bay.
 
The accident happened just before noon.  Police say they received a call of a reckless driver near Ashland Ave. and Lombardi Ave. on the city's west side.  
 
While officers were searching for that vehicle they got the received the call for the crash.  Several children were involved in that accident but their conditions are unknown.
 
The crash is suspected to be a result of a medical issue.
 
"Just our initial investigation it appears the driver may have had some type of medical condition we're unsure at this point.  The investigation will continue and we'll try to resolve the issue," said Lieutenant Jody Buth with the Green Bay Police Department.
 
Ashland Avenue was closed in both directions for several hours while accident reconstruction crews tried to piece together what happened.
