Parents and the community got a taste of the creativity of students at Green Bay's Webster Elementary School Wednesday.
The school held an open house as part of their Art Smart program. That program aims to show how unique the school is in its integrative curriculum incorporating art, music, theater, and movement into their classes.
They offer group piano and violin lessons, students can play in the band as well as after school opportunities in dance, choir, and musicals.
Kevin Fogel, the school's art director, says, "It's a fun way to learn. We see it in the kids. Using the arts rather than sitting behind a book and just reading or taking a test about it, they're out of their seats."
Flogel hopes the open house will draw more students into the school and help create connections with area groups like the Boys and Girls Club.
