A new proposal by the City of Appleton could make your nights more restful.
A committee is recommending the city spend about $27,000 on a study to investigate ways to reduce train horn noise throughout the city.
"For trains to not have to blow their horn, the city would have to upgrade crossings. So, you would see gates across both sides of the intersection. There are a number of safety improvements that would or could be made to make everyone feel comfortable," said Chad Doran, City of Appleton Communications Coordinator.
The firm behind the study, SRF Consulting Group, says they could have results by this summer.
