Appleton shelter gets makeover as a thank you to veterans

Posted

The COTS shelter that serves veterans in Appleton got a mini makeover on Friday. Volunteers painted rooms, installed new lighting, and put in new washers and dryers.

"To get 40 people all working eight hour shifts and volunteering, you can get a lot of work done in a short amount of time," said Store Manager Wendy Winters.

Home Depot got a $21,000 grant to make the improvements.

The company's Celebration of Service program is a way to say thank you to veterans for their service.
