UPDATE: Appleton Police say the man killed in a shooting incident between two brothers is identified as Danny Ortega, 21 years old, from Appleton.

-------------------------------

Officers say the shooting was a result of a domestic violence situation on the 800 block of North Oneida Street.

The argument was between 24 and 21 year old brothers who lived together.

Investigators say the 24-year-old man ran from the home after he was shot in the leg by his 21-year-old brother.  Police say the 21-year-old then turned the gun on himself and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Officers say the investigation shows the 21-year-old may have suffered from mental health issues.

The autopsy on the 21-year-old is scheduled for Monday according to police.

The investigation is still ongoing.

The Appleton Police Department reports they are investigating a shooting on North Oneida Street. Police say the call came in at 7:26 PM for a residence in the 800 block.

Police say they were called to reports of a man with a gunshot wound to his head. The man was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead a short time later.

About one minute after the first 9-1-1 call, a second called told first responders a different man with a gunshot wound to the leg had gone to a home in the 700 block of the same street looking for help. He was also taken to the hospital.

Appleton Police are continuing an investigation but believe the incident is isolated and there is no threat to the community since the two men involved were related to each other.
