Appleton Police hope to identify historic photo

In recent years, police departments have turned to social media to ask the public for help identifying suspects or tracking down people. This time, the Appleton Police Department is asking for help identifying a different person.

An old photo found shows a man wearing a badge but doesn't tell much else. Appleton Police are hoping someone knows more about the gentleman in the photo. At first it was believed to be a photo of Officer McGinnis but now they do not believe that to be the case.

Based on the badge, they know the photo was taken after 1926.

If you know anything else about the photo or the person in the picture you are asked to call Appleton Police's non-emergency number 920-832-5500 and speak with Beth Jasiak. She will get the information to the historian, Arnie Nettekoven.

Police are also interested in any other Appleton Police photos or memorabilia.
