The Appleton Police Department and Fox Valley Metro Police Department say they’ve arrested a man from recent burglary and robbery investigations.
On March 5, 2017, the Appleton Police Department investigated a burglary to a bar in the 2700 block of E. Newberry Street. After gaining access to the business, the suspect allegedly destroyed several gaming machines. Video of the suspect was posted to social media on March 11, 2017.
On April 9, 2017, the Fox Valley Metro Police Department investigated an armed robbery occurring at a convenience store in the 700 block of W. Kimberly Avenue in Kimberly. The suspect allegedly robbed the store while armed with a hammer and a knife. A store employee, who was struck with the hammer, was taken to a local hospital for minor injuries.
Based on evidence found at both locations and tips from the public, investigators from the two agencies were able to develop a suspect. The individual was taken into custody, without incident, in the parking lot of an E. Newberry Street business earlier today.
NBC26 is not naming the suspect at this time as he has not been charged.
He is being held in the Outagamie County Jail.
