An Appleton man has been charged in Green Lake County for allegedly selling drugs to a woman which eventually caused her overdose death.

Samuel Moreno Baza, 33, was charged with first degree reckless homicide and two counts of felony bail jumping.

He's accused of selling heroin to Lacey Chier, who overdosed in her Berlin home in July 2017.

On July 11, Berlin Police responded to a report of a dead body in a residence on S. Swetting Street, according to court document.

Chier's mother had called police, telling officers she had not heard from Chier since July 1 and was checking on her when she found her body.

An investigation led police to Moreno Baza. Officers found a text message conversation between him and Chier from July 1 in which she asked him for drugs.

Moreno Baza is being held on a $50,000 cash bond. He will be back in court on November 28.
