The website Money, formerly Money Magazinehas included Appleton in its list of the top 50 places to live in the United States, placing the Fox Valley city at number 24.
Editors used factors including affordable housing, crime rate and special events open to the community such as The Mile of Music, Fox Cities Performing Arts Center and Lawrence University.
"We're thrilled to be recognized on this prestigious list and to add this to the growing number of honors Appleton has received in the last few years," said Mayor Tim Hanna. "From our thriving downtown to the exciting growth on our riverfront, Appleton is joining the list of places people want to be."
Appleton is the only city in Wisconsin to make the list.
