A child was taken to the hospital after a fire in Menasha on Thursday afternoon.
Neenah-Menasha Fire Rescue says when the department got to the corner of First and Lush, they found an apartment building on fire and an infant upstairs.
First responders rushed that child to the hospital. The fire department says it’s still investigating but doesn’t suspect foul play.
“We’ve taken pictures, we’ve interviewed, and we’ve done things,” explained Fire Marshal Vernon Green. “We don’t believe at this point that it’s anything malicious or incendiary in nature.”
The Red Cross is providing the building’s residents with food, housing and other needs they may have. One other person in the building was hurt, but firefighters say those injures aren’t life-threatening.
