For just the second time in the past 29 years, the swimming beach at the Green Lake Conference Center is closed, because of high E. Coli levels.

The Green Lake Public Health Department said the E. Coli levels are currently very high and the beach will remain closed until those levels get back to normal.

Health officials say if you come in contact with the bacteria, some symptoms include nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. Younger children and people with weaker immune systems are more at risk for a serious illness.

The Green Lake County Public Health Department says they plan to test the waters again on Monday.

Two Rivers beach closed due to E. coli

Earlier this week, Neshotah Beach in Two Rivers was closed for a short time due to high E. Coli levels. Health officials there have reopened the beach, but are still telling people to avoid swimming for now.
