A nice weather day couldn't have come at a better time for anglers in Northeast Wisconsin.
Today they took to the water to celebrate the state's fishing opener.
It also created a busy day at local bait shops in Green Bay.
The owner of Smokey's on the Bay said the fishing opener is always exciting, but even more so on a nice day like this.
"I've never seen the parking lot so full," Jeff Tilkens said. "When you look back here, there's hundreds of hundreds of boats here and people coming in. It's the biggest turnout I've seen in years."
As a reminder, fishing licenses are required in the state of Wisconsin. There are discounts for the first time buyer and one-day passes.
