We've learned more about how officers tracked down nine year old Donovin Johnston who disappeared from a Green Bay home prompting an Amber Alert. Wood County Sheriff's Deputies tell NBC26 News that around 5 p.m.. they received information that the boy and his mother may be at an address in the township of Saratoga, just East of Nekoosa. When deputies arrived at the location, they spotted a car under a tarp in the yard. The wind had blown the tarp and the license plate was visible. It matched the numbers they were looking for. The boy's mother was taken into custody without incident and the boy is safe and unharmed. She will be charged with interfering with child custody and the boy will be returned to a relative who has temporary custody.

The Amber Alert that was issued for Donovin Johnston has been canceled.
Green Bay Police say Donovin has been found safe and the suspect is in custody.

An Amber Alert has been issued by Green Bay police for a 9-year-old boy missing from an East Green Bay residence.
Donovin Johnston is white, 4'9", 90 pounds and has light brown hair and blue eyes.
The child's mother, Connie Smiley, 33, is suspected of taking her child against court order. She is white, 5'4", 110 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes.
Johnston was last seen at 11 p.m.. Tuesday in bed at the residence of a family member who had temporary legal custody. He was discovered missing at about 8 a.m.. His jacket was left behind and there was no forced entry.
Smiley is suspected to be mentally ill and previously spoke of harming the child. She is living out of her car, which is a 2003 blue Kia Rio 4 door sedan with Wisconsin license plates: 228-WYF. The vehicle may be heading towards Watertown, Clyman, Babcock, Oconomowoc or Adams.
People who locate the abductor shouldn't take any action other than calling 911 or law enforcement and providing them with information.
