The Packers are teaming up with local first graders and the Village of Allouez to plant trees in the community. The Packers donated the trees through the First Downs for Trees program which donates trees to municipalities based on the number of first downs scored by the Packers in the previous season.
On Thursday, Langlade Elementary School students worked with the Village to plant those trees.
"The first grade class had an opportunity to plant a tree that was donated by the Packers along our boulevard on Libal Street, and they'll get to watch it grow as they grow older here at Langlade," said Principal Jesse Brinkmann.
The students planted the trees near the corner of Broadview Drive and Libal Street.
This year, 444 donated trees will be planted throughout Brown County through the program.
