An annual run returns to Green Bay today, and this year it includes a special guest.

A 98-year-old Iwo Jima survivor, Bert Compton, attended today's run for veterans.

This event is a 5K run and walk to benefit a military veteran cause in northeast Wisconsin.

This year's beneficiary is UW-Green Bay's veteran and service member student lounge.

Compton says it's special for the veterans to be recognized this way.

"Anything to help the veterans, I'm all for that," he said. "I think it's very nice that they single us out and do it this way. I'm very happy about that."
