At 1:12 p.m. March 7, the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a one vehicle crash on Highway C about 0.1 mile west of Town Hall Road in the town of Dupont.
An 86-year-old man was traveling westbound on Highway C, failed to negotiate a curve and entered the west ditch.
The driver was transported by ambulance to Aurora Hospital in Green Bay. The driver was identified as William E. Nichols from Sister Bay. He died March 9 due to complications from his injuries.
The Waupaca Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the Marion Rural Fire Department and the Clintonville Ambulance Service.
