The warm weather is having a major impact on sturgeon spearing. On day 10 of the season, the DNR says they registered eight sturgeon. Seven were taken from Lake Winnebago and one from the Upriver Lakes.

Duane Haensgen's fish was the largest on Monday. It weighed 100.1 pounds and was 75.5 inches long.

So far, 845 fish have been harvested this season which is greater than last year's total harvest of 703 fish system wide.

Of the 845 sturgeon taken so far, 551 have been harvested from Lake Winnebago and 294 from the Upriver Lakes.
