The DNR says 31 sturgeon were registered on day seven of the spearing season. 25 of them came from Lake Winnebago. Six were hauled in on the upriver lakes.
Jerome Hoelzel speared the largest fish of the day. It weighed 142.6 pounds and was 75.5 inches long.
The DNR says most shacks have been pulled off Lake Winnebago due to the February warm up in temperatures. They expect most fishing clubs will pull their vehicle bridges this weekend, if they haven't already.
