WAUPACA COUNTY, WI -- A 30-point buck was shot in Waupaca County.
Steve Sawall of Scandinavia says he shot the monster deer on November 19th while hunting with his dad on his 89th birthday.
Steve says he had captured a few pictures on the trail camera of the prize deer and also found one of his shed antlers last Spring.
He says he bagged the buck on opening day just outside of Clintonville. He took a shot from 150 yards and couldn't believe what he saw when he began examining its antlers.
"I counted one side and then I just yeah, that's when the adrenaline kicked in. It was like wow. I've gotten some nice deer over the years, and then I always wondered which one is the biggest. I don't have to wonder anymore," he chuckled.
Steve says the once-in-a-lifetime deer weighed 200 pounds. He plans to mount his trophy buck.
