UPDATE: The 16-year-old driver was taken into custody in Calumet County at about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday and is currently being held in the Fond du Lac County Secure Detention Facility.

FOND DU LAC, Wis-- The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a suspect involved in a high speed chase that spanned across two counties.
It began around 12:15 a.m. Wednesday on Highway 23, near Highway UU in the Township of Empire.
Deputies tried to make a traffic stop but the vehicle continued onto Highway 151 from Highway 23. Speeds eventually reached 105 mph.
The chase continued on Highway 151 into Calumet County.
Once the suspect reached Highway 55 the vehicle left the road, and the passengers exited the car.
Two girls, who were reported as runaways from the Menasha area were turned over to the Menasha Police Department.
A 16 year-old boy runaway, also from the Menasha area, fled the scene on foot.
He is believed to be the driver.
He is described as 5’09”, and 170 lbs. He has dark brown hair that is buzzed on the sides and longer, possibly curly in front.
He was last seen wearing black shoes, blue jeans, a white t-shirt, and a camouflage sweatshirt.
The entire pursuit was 27.5 miles.
No property was damaged, and nobody was injured.
The incident remains under investigation by the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office.
