15-year-old girl stabilized after being hit by car in Oshkosh

The Oshkosh Police Department and Oshkosh Fire Rescue were dispatched to a car versus pedestrian accident at 4:37 p.m. on Witzel Avenue near Westbrook Drive in Oshkosh.

A 15-year-old girl was crossing Witzel Avenue on foot when she was struck by a vehicle. The girl was transported to a local hospital where she is in critical condition.

According to the Oshkosh Police Department, the 15-year-old girl is recovering from head and torso injuries. 

A witness told investigators that the girl was waiting to cross Witzel Avenue for approximately a minute. The witness said she was standing on the curb, inline with the crosswalk at Westbrook Drive in Oshkosh. 

While crossing the street, she was struck by a car traveling as well as a pickup truck. Police say neither of the drivers received any injuries related to the collision. 

As of this morning, the 15-year-old girl has been stabilized and is recovering from her injuries. 

No further information is being released at this time concerning her condition.

No citations have been issued at this time pending the completion of the investigation.
