The man accused of attempted murder and sexual assault is being held in the Winnebago County jail on a $1 million cash bond.

Timothy Cole appeared in Winnebago County Court and now faces several counts including Attempted First Degree Intentional Homicide, Second Degree Sexual Assault, False Imprisonment along with several others.
Court documents show the suspect allegedly struck the victim with a baseball bat several times before the victim escaped and locked herself in another room.
The victim was able to throw an old hunting rifle out of the window to gain attention and to help notify neighbors to call police
The attack against the woman happened during the early morning hours of September 14.
