A Marinette County Judge ordered 76 year old Robert Dettmering held in jail on a $1 million bond on charges of plotting to kill his son and his wife.
Dettmering was arrested last week after an undercover officer with the state Department of Justice posed as a hit man and met with the suspect. Prosecutors say Dettmering paid a $1,000 down payment for the murders. His original offer was $10,000 for the job.
Officials raided Kranky Bob's Bar and Grill on Loomis Road, in Porterfield, searched a home and car during the investigation.
Dettmering did not have a lawyer in court Monday morning. His next scheduled court appearance takes place on August 15th.
